چکیده

Adaptive-passive vibration and acoustic control systems can provide significant attenuation without requiring significant power compared to an active control system. The control system includes an algorithm to evaluate a costfunction to be minimised, which is typically a time-averaged multiplication of the vibration or noise on the resonator and at a point in the system where the disturbance is to be minimised. This conventional algorithm of cost-function evaluation is suitable for simple systems. A new cost-function evaluation algorithm is proposed based on the slidingGoertzel algorithm, that is tolerant of multiple harmonics and high background broadband noise. The algorithm was demonstrated on an experimental rig of an adaptive tuned vibration neutraliser and a two-stage vibration isolation system.

Target Detection in Bistatic Passive Radars by Using Adaptive Processing Based on Correntropy Cost Function

In this paper a novel method is introduced for target detection in bistatic passive radars which uses the concept of correntropy to distinguish correct targets from false detections. In proposed method the history of each cell of ambiguity function is modeled as a stochastic process. Then the stochastic processes consist the noise are differentiated from those consisting targets by constructing...

A Sliding Goertzel Algorithm for Adaptive Passive Neutralizers

A common method used in tuning adaptive-passive tuned vibration neutralizers is to adjust its resonance frequency to match the excitation frequency, which has the characteristic that the phase angle between its vibrating mass and its support is −90 degrees. A sliding-Goertzel algorithm is presented and demonstrated for extracting the vibration signals at the frequency of interest. The benefit o...

Pareto Optimization of a Two-degree of Freedom Passive Linear Suspension Using a New Multi-objective Genetic Algorithm (TECHNICAL NOTE)

The primary function of a suspension system of a vehicle is to isolate the road excitations experienced by the tires from being transmitted to the passengers. In this paper, we formulate an optimal vehicle suspension design problem with the quarter-car vehicle dynamic model. A new multi-objective genetic algorithm is used for Pareto optimization of a two-degree of freedom vehicle vibration mode...

A graph search algorithm: Optimal placement of passive harmonic filters in a power system

The harmonic in distribution systems becomes an important problem due to an increase in nonlinear loads. This paper presents a new approach based on a graph algorithm for optimum placement of passive harmonic filters in a multi-bus system, which suffers from harmonic current sources. The objective of this paper is to minimize the network loss, the cost of the filter and the total harmonic disto...

Vibration Optimization of Fiber-Metal Laminated Composite Shallow Shell Panels Using an Adaptive PSO Algorithm

The paper illustrates the application of a combined adaptive particle swarm optimization (A-PSO) algorithm and the finite strip method (FSM) to the lay-up optimization of symmetrically fiber-metal laminated (FML) composite shallow shell panels for maximizing the fundamental frequency. To improve the speed of the optimization process, adaptive inertia weight was used in the particle swarm optimiz...
